Thanksgiving Blessings at Lutheran High

Every year the students and staff at Lutheran High head on over to Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls to help at His Ark, the childhood development center and daycare at the church. On Friday, November 22nd, they had a wonderful time serving the children and parents their annual Thanksgiving Meal at His Ark! This is a wonderful service project for our high school students to take part in.

LHSSF students serve the Thanksgiving meal at His Ark.

Our students involved in the new Life Skills class offered at Lutheran High School of Sioux Falls also decided to do something special for the students and staff this November. The Life Skills students were learning how to cook and prepare food, and as a class, they wanted to be able to show the school what they had learned during their cooking unit. They decided to prepare a classic Thanksgiving feast for fellow students and the staff at Lutheran High! Not only did they prepare the food, the Life Skills students also personally served the meal to them in order to proudly show them what they had learned and made. It was a wonderful meal and a great way to start Thanksgiving Break! We are so very grateful for this school and the family we find here.

The new Life Skills class is taught from a rotation of different teachers, led by Principal Derek Bult, Mr. Austin Albers, and Ms. Leanne Holdorf, as they dive into different life skill subjects. Throughout the school year, students will learn a variety of skills, like home repair, cooking, finance, vehicle maintenance, computer/technology skills, and more.
