Lutheran High and Sioux Falls Lutheran Summer Camps at Memorial Lutheran Church
Marching Eagles of Sioux Falls Camp
The 2nd annual Marching Eagles of Sioux Falls Camp was a success! The marching band camp was held at Memorial Lutheran Church June 4th-7th thanks to leadership from Ms. Tasondra Huyck, music director at LHSSF, and Mrs. Karen Dooley, music director at SFLS. Thirty students worked on marching techniques, rehearsed new music (Frozen!), and prepared for the fall band season.
On Friday, June 8th, the Marching Eagles held a car wash at the Sioux Falls Lutheran School to raise money as they get ready for their 2nd year of marching band competition! Thanks to everyone who came to support the music department!
Camp Center Stage Drama Camp
The 3rd annual summer drama camp, Camp Center Stage, took place at Memorial Lutheran Church from June 4th-15th. The camp was led by Mr. Austin Albers and Mrs. Heidi Albers, theatre directors
at Lutheran High. A total of 19 campers participated this year!
During the two-week camp, students prepared for their public performance of “Here Be Dragons,” a one-act comedy, held Friday,
June 15th in the Garage at Memorial. While campers enjoyed games, warm-ups, and theatrical exercises each day, students also rehearsed choreography for the show, enjoyed learning how to ap-
ply burn makeup, found costumes at Savers, and took a tour of the Orpheum Theatre downtown Sioux Falls. Thank you to all who attended the Friday night performance! It was a full house!
