Most enjoyable aspects of your teaching ministry: I enjoy the acts of inquiry and discovery with my students when exploring the written word now and throughout the ages. We learn that "then" is not so different from "now." We connect and commune with literary characters who reflect our own selves in many ways. In the process, we learn more about who we are, and how and why those unique differences contribute to the good of all that surrounds us in and beyond our academic community. My students throughout this process then become my best teachers. Perhaps this is what I like best about teaching.
What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming school year? I look forward to teaching our new incoming freshmen and welcoming back our "scholars" at LHSSF for another exciting school year.
What are your hobbies? In my spare time, I like to read an assortment of materials (contemporary fiction, classics, various non-fiction, cookbooks, poetry, trade publications). I like to draw, and I also enjoy writing poetry. I also like to relax with my family in a variety of different activities - watching movies, preparing and sharing good food, and even just moseying with my dog through the local parks. Given more time, I would love to travel (again).
What is your favorite flavor of ice-cream? My favorite flavor of ice-cream is actually a concoction of bliss: a French Silk Pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen. Extra choco-chippies, please :)
What is your favorite Bible verse? "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men." John 1:1-4
