MR. AUSTIN ALBERS
Mr. Austin Albers
Most enjoyable aspects of your teaching ministry: Every day spent at this school is a joy! Teaching at Lutheran High is being a part of a close family of like-minded, Christ-centered educators, students, and parents. I sometimes can't believe I'm paid to do something I love so much!
What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming school year? Every new year is a new opportunity to learn from the past and to improve my methods; raising the standards of my curriculum and challenging my students to achieve more than they ever thought possible. In particular, I'm looking into enhancing my 1920's Unit by having my students run a "speak easy" and make loads of money through stock speculation, only to see it come crashing down by simulating the stock market crash of 1929, and having them eat re-fried beans and Spam during the "Dirty Thirties" Unit.
What are your hobbies? Church league softball, reading (esp. Dostoevsky and Dante), revels in theology and baseball history, collecting stamps and vintage Superman comics; enjoys biking, camping, and traveling to historic sites.
What is your favorite flavor of ice-cream? Most any flavor will do! Except sherbet... you can keep the sherbet.
What is your favorite Bible verse? "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom." Luke 12:32
